You drive the process. Think of yourself as the "team owner" with the builder as the "coach" and with the subcontractors and suppliers as the "players". The more you communicate with the designer/builder, the better they can translate your vision. The more you know about the process, the easier it will be to communicate with all the players throughout the entire process. This is where an experienced builder with a strong construction team can guide you through the process so you can make the decisions you need to make on time and in a knowledgeable way.
